The first round of the University Programming Marathon 2018 was held on 19 April. The time to finish all the assignements is 4 hours. UPM is organised by ACM Slovenia.
UP FAMNIT bachelor students are invited to participate in the Programming competition Batalja Spaziale. Batalja Spaziale is a variation of the two player game Galcon. Contestants will have to program their player, which will play against others.
The University programming competition CERC 2017 (Central European ACM ICPC Competition) took place at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in Zagreb (Croatia) from November 17th to 19th, 2017. The Central European region is one of the most competitive in the world. Competitors had 5 hours of time to solve 12 tasks, some of which were extremely dificult.
The final round of the University Programming Marathon 2017 a was held in Koper on Saturday, October 14, 2017. It was hosted by the University of Primorska, and the competition took place on the premises of the Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technology. After 3rd rounds, it was clear that the finals will be interesting, as the leading teams were very close together. You can see the official results here.
With the start of the new academic year, we continue with the 3rd round of the University Programming Marathon. The 3rd round took place at all three public universities on Thursday, October 5, 2017. The teams had the opportunity to advance their positions before the the finals.
The finals of the university sport championship was held on May 15. Students from UP FAMNIT competed in volleyball, basketball and futsal and scored high in these sports. Among them were several students of computer science.
Computer science students participated at Primatijada competition, which took place between 28 April and 3 May 2017 in Čajn Montenegro. 15 students from UP FAMNIT competed in the contest of knowledge and achieved excellent results. In the competition in informatics Leo Gombač won 1st place, Valentin Sojar and Patrik Kocjančič 2nd place, and Peter Kozlovič the 3rd place.
NASA Space Apps Challenge was held this year on 29th and 30th of April 2017 also in Koper. It is the world's largest hekaton with the theme "Earth in the universe". 25,000 participants from 69 countries participated in one of the 187 locations to solve one of the five challenges prepared by NASA. 19 participants gathered in Koper and have registered 6 projects. The winner was Oliver Glavina, a postgraduate student of computer science at UP FAMNIT.
Central European regional contest ACM ICPC CERC 2016 was held from 18 to 20 November 2016 at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. Srednjeevropska regija je ena izmed najtežjih na svetu. The Central European region is one of the toughest in the world. Competitors were given 5 hours to solve 12 tasks, some of which were extremely demanding. The results can be found at http://cerc.hsin.hr/index.php?page=results. The competition was attended by 67 teams from 28 universities from Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia. UP FAMNIT team as the second Slovenian team accomplished 30th place: University of Primorska (Marko Palangetić Daniel Silađi, Anton Uramer) 4 rescued tasks.
The finals of the University Programming Marathon (UPM) took place on Saturday, 15 October 2016, in Ljubljana. Each year, teams from Slovenia's three universities compete for the UPM Champions title and the title on individual universities. At the same time, the team also compete to qualify for the CERC Europe Central Regional Contest 2016.
The third round of the University programming marathon (UPM) took place on Thursday, 06/10/2016, in Maribor, Koper and Ljubljana. Participation in Koper was severely curtailed. Nonetheless, the participants started seriously, but not enough to put together a good solution to the problems prepared.
