The mission of the Department of Information Science and Technologies (DIST) is to contribute to the societal progress by exploring new ways of harnessing computer power and the ocean of digital resources in ways that will augment human abilities and the society.

We pursue this goal by progressing the area of Computational Interactions, which utilizes advanced computational methods, algorithms, cognitive models  and ever increasing computational power to enable the generation of computer systems that embrace the complexity and unpredictability of human behaviour and society.

Through this scope we aim to be at the forefront of the next wave of computing, which we believe will be even more profound that the era of personal computers, the internet and mobile computing.
