MTMarathon – Machine Translation Marathon is an annual week gathering of researchers, programmers, students and users of machine translation and language technologies. It consists of:
- lectures and workshops on basic technologies of machine translation,
- technical presentations of open source tools,
- week long hacking projects that push the boundaries of exploration.
Each of the 6 days was filled with activities: lectures in the morning, afternoon lab sessions, and projects in the evening and at night hours.
The main theme of this year’s marathon was the final dominance of machine translation based on neural networks, which in this year’s workshops swept by far the most widespread paradigm the statistical machine translation.
We can expect the first experiments on the transfer of new technologies in language pairs with Slovenian before the end of the year, the results will be reported!
