Title: Univerzitetni programerski maraton

Abstract:
Univerzitetni programerski maraton (UPM) is a Slovenian programming contest for students, where the emphasis is on algorithms and data structures. The competition is team-based and consists of three pre-rounds and a final round. UPM takes place on all three Slovenian universities simultaneously (on the University of Ljubljana, the University of Maribor, and the University of Primorska). Besides being a national contest, UPM also serves as qualification for the CERC (Central Europe Regional Contest). CERC is a regional competition of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, which is the largest, the oldest and the most prestigious contest of this kind. The University of Primorska participates in the UPM each year since 2003, and in the CERC since 2005.

Firstly, I will present the rules of the UPM contest, its history and the on-line judging system. Then we will glance at several tasks from previous contests. Finally, we will survey other similar contests and on-line judges which enable self-paced preparation.

Vabljeni!
