Abstract:
On this seminar we will try to clarify the concepts of “Data Science” and “Data Scientist”. We will attempt to answer the questions, such as: “What is data science?”, “What do people look for in a data scientist?”, “How to become a data scientst?”, “What are the skills that a data scientist should have?”. We will look at the palette of competences and tools that are needed in the field of data science. We will try to find out where in the study programs of computer science data science “is hidden” and, above all, try to identify those competences that traditional computer science programs do not provide.
